Discover the joy of dance through a perfect blend of classical technique and creative expression!

This joy filled class combines two elements: foundational ballet technique and modern dance. In the technique portion, students build strength, flexibility, and coordination—essential building blocks for strong dancers. Meanwhile, the creative movement portion allows students to apply their technical skills while encouraging personal expression and artistic exploration.

Guided by themes in literature, students will learn the key elements of dance– time, space, and energy. These elements provide a strong base for choreography and performance.  Through improvisation, partnering, and group activities, students will develop not only their technical skills but also their ability to communicate through movement.

At the end of the semester, students will participate in a special performance at Family Night, showcasing the technique they’ve mastered and the unique choreography they’ve created.

Whether your child is new to dance or already has some experience, Creative Movement offers an inspiring environment to learn, create, and grow.

Uniform:

• Girls: Black leotard, pink tights, and pink ballet slippers. Hair should be neatly pulled back and out of the face.

• Boys: Black shirt with black shorts or pants that allow for easy movement. Hair should be kept out of the face.

To accommodate students transitioning from other classes and reduce the need to change clothing, dancers are welcome to wear their Music, Art & Movement t-shirt with black bottoms to class. We only ask that the full uniform listed above be available when requested or for performances.
